In 2003, Herbalife helped establish the Mark Hughes Cellular and Molecular Nutrition Laboratory at the Centre for Human Nutrition at UCLA* as part of its mission to advance nutritional science through the most progressive research and development technologies available.

Nutrition Advisory Board (NAB)

In support of building Herbalife's brand as the premier nutrition company in the world, we are expanding our Advisory Board to include leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition and health who educate and train on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyles with 'nutrition' as a primary focus. The NAB is chaired by Professor David Heber Ph.D. and its activities are guided by Luigi Gratton M.P.H. Vice President of Education. Steve Henig, Ph.D. is chief scientific officer with responsibility for the company's product research and development functions. Nobel Laureate* Louis Ignarro, Ph.D. is a member of Herbalife's Scientific Advisory Board, which advises the company on advancements in the field of nutrition science.

The NAB includes nine experts from the EMEA region. These are Ralph Rogers Ph.D from the UK, Professor Ali Kocailik Ph.D. from Turkey, Marion Flechtner- Mors Ph.D. from Germany, Professor Lázló Halmy from Hungary, Professor Alla Pogozheva Ph.D. from Russia, Julián Álvarez Garcia from Spain, Pierre Zelissen Ph.D. from the Netherlands, Professor Jean de La Tullaye from France and Professor Nikolaos Sitaras Ph.D. from Greece.
